There's a new kind of coding I call
«vibe coding», where you fully give in to the
vibes, embrace exponentials, and forget that the code even
exists.

My current favourite term:
«agentic engineering». «Agentic» because the
new default is that you are
not writing the code directly 99% of the time,
you are orchestrating agents who do and acting as oversight.
«Engineering» to emphasise that there is an art & science
and expertise to it.

Programming with AI assistance is very revealing.
… LLMs are so good now that I can validate and
generate a tremendous amount of code while doing hardly any
hand-coding at all.
And it's dawning on me that I don't miss it.
It's an interesting way to find out that
I was always a system designer first, with code only as a
means rather than an end.

This has been said a thousand times before, but allow me to add
my own voice:
the era of humans writing code is over.
Disturbing for those of us who identify as SWEs, but no less
true. That's not to say SWEs don't have work to do, but
writing syntax directly is not it.
